Another Bridge

Another bridge and I am jumping.

Why oh Why do I do this to myself?

I want to follow through on this one and I imagine that after one or two meetings I will be on board.

OH? What am I talking about?

Weight Watchers.

Wish me luck and PLEASE don't ask me if I am on the wagon or not. ;) I can't take the pressure.

My goal? Ideally? Lose 40 lbs. Realistically? 30lbs would make me happy. According to the BMI thingy, I am one point, ONE POINT PEOPLE, into the OBESE category. That sucks.... so to be in the "recommended" weight category I need to lose 38lbs...lets round that up to the aforementioned 40lbs.

What? Yeah, I said I wasn't making any resolutions...SO WHAT. :P

Anyone do this before? How *is* it weighing in in front of people you don't know? I am the type of person that doesn't even OWN a scale for her own house...who needs to know on a weekly basis what their weight is? NOT I.

  1. You go, girl!

Your kids are gorgeous, by the way.

Thanks for your kind anniversary wishes!

  2. good for you! I've done the WW thing a time or two... I do great until I stop going to meetings. weighing in front of people is not the end of the world - and only one other person actually sees your weight. it's definitely the best program out there. good luck!

  4. Good luck!!
I've done WW before and it's great. Weighing in is not a big deal at all. Only one person sees it and writes it down, and they don't shout it across the room. There will be people bigger & smaller, shorter & taller than you, so you needn't feel anxious. Everybody is there for the same reason so there's a lot of excellent support. The meetings are really great and being accountable to somebody by paying your fee and weighing in really helps to keep you on track!
    You can do it!!

  5. I just might be joining you after this baby is born. Although I hate the catagories that make you "obese." Way back before babies, I was 129 pounds and went to the gym and had a free weight analysis and the skinny little 90 pound girl told me I was considered obese. WTF! I think they were just trying to sell personal trainers. Good luck!

  6. I have never personally done it but have several friends who have lost at least 40 probably more and it works for them

    You can do it!

    :-)

  7. I've done the WW Online thing before and liked it, but I don't think I could do meetings. Eeeeeek.

  8. You are going to love WW! My mother, sister and I did it about 4 years ago (I love 35lbs, my sister and mother both lost about 50 each) - it was a great program and I would highly recommend it. And ... the meetings and the weighing in are a big part of the success that people have and other people don't see your weight when you are weighed in - it's confidential. Good luck to you! Once you learn how to eat on WW, you will continue to use it for a long time - I still use all that I learned. Take care and have a great weekend. Kellan

  9. Well, Stacie, first of all I have to tell you that you certainly do NOT look obese, but I know it's how YOU feel that makes all the difference, not what anyone else thinks. Best of luck with Weight Watchers, if you're motivated to make this happen, it will! (Great in 2008, and in shape in 2008?) :)

  10. I tried it and it worked well, getting back down to pre-pregnancy weight.

I celebrated by getting knocked up again.

  11. I've done it. The weigh thing is no sweat, you go behind a screen and they don't yell out your numbers. As far as the obese thing goes, I am 5'5" and @ 147 I was considered obese. Yes, it sucks, but you lose the weight and you feel fabulous. Good luck and stay strong...don't let that food call your name...just tell it to "get back" like a demon out of Hell.
