The things an *almost* five year old says....

"Mom? Can we go and buy me some white pants?"

(me) "Um, white pants? I don't think they sell white pants after labor day."

*****

"Dad, can you ask your mom to make some of her DELICIOUS macaroni and cheese for my birthday party?"

*****

"Mom? I want that for my birthday."
(again, thank you Nickelodeon for all the damn toy commercials)

****

"Mom, for my next birthday, can we have Mario and Luigi birthday plates?"

"Sure, bubs, can we get through THIS birthday first?"

****
"I don't want to wear a cup for my marbles."

"Bubba, you HAVE to protect your privates when you play t-ball, it's a rule."

I'm not bustin your balls. <--no quotes, I didn't say that out loud, thankyouverymuch.

****
"Can I open sister's presents? I will let her open FIVE of mine at my party."

Buggy is not home, she has presents from Christmas that my Aunt dropped off (family of procrastinators, that's what we are!) It is KILLING Bubba that she hasn't been home to open them.

****
"Mom, will you turn on Sponge Bob? OH! I haven't seen this...oh wait, yes I have."

"I know you have because *I* have seen it like a million times...IN PASSING."

****

Beth at I should be folding laundry, always interviews her kids for their birthday. I love the idea, so I am going to ask him a few questions too. This is word for word our conversation...

Me: Bubba, how old are you going to be?

Bubba: Five.

Me: What do you want to be when you grow up?

Bubba: uh, uh, uh a Superhero

Me: What superhero?

Bubba: Batman, because he has a gun that shoots a rope and then it has lines and then um, it gets on to somethin and then he pulls the thing that...that...that...real guns do and it makes him go up.

Me: What's your favorite food?

Bubba: tomatoes and yogurt, can I have a yogurt?

(I get up to get him yogurt and strawberries.)

Me: Who do you like more, Mommy or Daddy?

Bubba: Momm....um, both

Me: What do you like most about Mommy?

Bubba: *chirp chirp* what?

Me: Nothing, what's your favorite color?

Bubba: red and blue, orange and white and brown....and pink...and purple and yellow.

Me: *laugh*

Bubba: and gray

Me: *laugh*

Bubba: what? Mommy? *sheepish grin* I do, I like all of those.

Me: Yes, but do you have a favorite?

Bubba: Yes...all.of.them.

ME: OK.

Me: What kind of cake are you going to have on this birthday?

Bubba: Indiana Jones Chocolate Chip.

Me: Are you excited about Kindergarten?

Bubba: Yes.

Me: Are you done with this interview?

Bubba: *stares at Spongebob in T.V.* no.

Me: How much do you love me?

Bubba: All the way to the outer space and all the way back.

Me: Can I have a kiss?

Bubba: *kiss, runs back to T.V.*

Me: I love you, my big boy.

*cries a little, where does the time go?*

(Bubba runs back in and pokes his sister'S presents AGAIN.)

That concludes, the things my *almost* five year old has said lately and his birthday interview.

My favorite picture of Bubba, over this last year.
