Girl Talk-Make-up

Today's topic is

What's your makeup regimen?

I have recently adopted the do my make-up at home regiment, as opposed to in the car. I use to be one of THOSE woman, doing their make-up in the rear view mirror. I know, so dangerous.

I start with Covergirl Smoothers, I am not a big foundation wearer, this is a perfect compromise, it goes on like a lotion with a tint of color. PLUS, it has sunscreen in it, which is a must.

Next is a blush, I use whatever I can find, right now it is a Mary Kay bronzer cause I am a sucker for all home parties and I can't leave without buying something. I do like it just fine, but for the price, it's just not worth it, in my opinion.

After the sweeping of color on my cheeks, it's all about the eyes. I am partial to a nice light brown and sometimes a purple color. These I find bring out my green eyes best.

Then come the LASHES. I use Fantastic Lash Mascara, again by Covergirl. (Who knew this girl talk was going to be a covergirl commercial?) So far, it is my mascara of choice for now. It does the trick in giving me the dark, full eyelashes that I love. :)

Second most important item, one I don't even consider part of the regiment cause it is with me at.all.times. Chapstick. Any kind. I love glossy lips, but not too glossy or sticky. I don't wear any lipstick or rarely a tinted chapstick. I feel like a clown when I have color on my lips. For some reason my lips feel HUGE when I have color on them, I don't know why. Right now I am trying out Burt's Bees Replenishing Lip Balm with Pomegranate Oil. It does give some moisture to my lips, but it is not as glossy as I like.

And there you have it. My make-up takes me about 5 minutes, 4 minutes spent on eye lashes. Pretty quick and easy.

What about you? What is your make-up regiment?

I work from home. It's a good day if I put a little foundation on. Generally I brush my teeth and hair and throw a little deodorant on. I'm hot.

Mine also takes about 5 minutes! I'm super fast, since usually my 16 month old is the bathroom with me and I have to be quick before he puts his hands in the toilet for 'fun'!
I start with washing my face and brushing my teeth. Duh. Then, moisturizer. Then, NC35 concealer from MAC. Then, C3 StudioFix by MAC. Then, a bit of bronzer and/or blush. (Also MAC). Then I use either MAC eye shadow, Vanilla as a base, with a light brown and eyeliner. But recently I'm loving these little kits by Stila, for the smokey eye look (not too heavy, though, it's nice even during the day when I'm at work!) And some mascara. Shoot, that sounds like a lot! But that's what I do every single day! Even if I'm just going to the grocery store!

My daily routine...shower if I'm lucky. Wash face. Brush teeth...eventually. And moisturizer with spf.

Brush teeth, wash face. That's it. Shower and deodorant are optional.

: )

My routine involves tinted moisturizer, some eyeliner, some clear mascara for the crazy eyebrows and maybe some regular mascara for the eye lashes. If I'm feeling wild and crazy I'll add some eye shadow and lipstick but that doesn't happen very often.

Laziest person on the planet - right here!

Your Girl Talk topics are awesome!!!

Okay, that said, I love makeup! It's so wonderfully fun! Prepare yourselves for a novel, here...

Lately, I've been really bad about getting out of bed on time in the morning, so I have been doing it at work when I get to the office. No one is there at 7am, so no one's the wiser. :-)

I start by cleaning any residue from the day before off with Pond's Face Cleansing cloths. I do wash my face at night and then again in the morning, but I like to make sure that I'm a totally blank canvas when i start.

I use Max Factor Colorgenius Foundation with minerals on the splotchy spots, just to even everything out.

Then, I move on to the eyes. This is where I pay the most attention and spend the most time. I love trying different things, but on a regular day, I use a silver shadow on the whole lid, a charcoal gray in the crease and outer corner and then a smidge of black in the corner, as well. If I'm feeling extravagant, I add some shimmery white to the brow bone. I have a hodge podge of brands of shadow, but I'm really partial to the Ulta brand shadows.

Next on to eyeliner. I use a liquid black (Almay) on the top lid and a black pencil (Unstoppable by Maybelline) on the lower lid.

I top it off with Cover Girl's Lash Blast mascara (I'm a huge fan of ANTM...They pushed it so much, I had to give it a try and I LOVE it!!!), again in black.

And then I finish the look with Cover Girl's Trublend Microminerals foundation and blush. Yes, I essentially use two foundations. One or the other isn't good enough.

And some days, when I'm feeling sassy, I use L'Oreal Infallible lip gloss in a shimmery pink or fire engine red, depending on what I'm wearing or how I'm feeling.

It seriously took me much longer to type it all out (and probably took you longer to read it) than it actually takes me to DO it. If I'm going the whole nine yards, probably takes me 20 minutes, tops.

OMG I tooootally use the same chapstick right now.

I think I might steal this idea and do this same blog on my site today!

Hmmm...shaving about every 3 days. Slapping on some chapstick and some deodorant. Combing my hair. And adding sunscreen if I'm on the boat. That's about it. Takes me less than a minute.

I just throw on my Groucho Marx glasses and a trench coat and I'm ready to face the day.

When I'm feeling especially cheeky, I'll put on a sombrero.
