This week's capture is FAMILY.

Though this isn't MY blood family, they are family just the same. These beautiful girls and handsome boy belong to my very best friend. She and I have been thick as thieves since sophomore year of high school. God, how many years does that make it? Like four? ;)

Memorial Day 09 161

Kim and I were friends way before any of these munchkins came along. Her and her husband have lived in a few different places and I am proud to say that I visited her in each state they lived in. Even North Dakota. UGH, I think twice I visited her there.

While she was living in California, she got the news. She was going to have a baby. She was in denial so long about even being pregnant that by the time she finally admitted it, they needed to do an ultrasound to find out how far along she really was...and low and behold. TWO. Two babies.

She has done an amazing job raising twins, in my opinion. Her girls are well behaved, as well behaved as any 6 year old.

When the girls were very young, her husband decided to get out of the military and move his family back to where their roots were, which led them to Illinois (I still bitch that it didn't bring them back to INDIANA, where I am, but bygones) and now they are settled in close to St. Louis.

I love them, I love having them close enough to drive to visit, not plane ride. I love that she was BRAVE enough to have another child even though her chances of natural multiples was high, she did it anyway and brought into this world the chubbiest, happiest baby EVER.

It was a TREAT to have them here this weekend, it was a BLAST taking the girls back to "my beach" and watching C experience it all for the first time.

Here they all are at the beach, minus Buggy, she was with her daddy. :(
