Let's do this in parts, mmmk?
Friday, FRIDAY, FRIDAY.
I was out of work early to get Bubba's stitches out.

He was nervous. Getting the stitches in was quite dramatic. Bubba FREAKED the heck out. He remembers all too well the first time he had stitches. So do I. I can't believe I never posted about it, but it was back when I first started blogging.
We were in Wisconsin Dells, I was trying to get a picture of Bubba, he took off running and slipped on the slide cutting open his chin. It was pretty bad, but we decided to do nothing but bandage it. BAD idea.
When we got him I took him to the medical clinic to have it looked at and make sure it was OK. It was not. It had started to heal, they had to practically reopen the wound *queasy stomach* and clean it out *holds back vomit* to stitch it up.
Our stay in the little room was extended by me almost passing out and the nurses not letting us go until my blood pressure returned to normal. Mom award ripped out of my hands, I was NOT strong for my Bubbas.
This time, I got the call from daycare. On the drive over my stomach was already turning. I arrived at daycare took one look at the cut and headed straight to the pediatrician's office.
Bubba was fine until a nurse would come in then when the doctor came in it was all chaos. They brought in extra nurses in case he needed holding down. I immediately told them that I am not good in these cases, but that I would stay in with my head down on the table next to him, holding his arms.
The looks on their faces were of annoyance. I am sure they didn't want to have to pick up a Mom from the floor. Bubba was in straight panic mode. I wasn't going to wait in the hall, it wouldn't have made a difference, just hearing his screams would have caused the same reaction from me. I was staying right by his side.
"What are you doing?" He kept yelling. "What is THAATTT?"
The nurses were trying to tell him what was happening, but he was yelling so loudly over them he couldn't hear, didn't hear, wouldn't hear. I am sure my muffled reassurance wasn't getting through to him either.
It's all so damn traumatic. However, he survived. I survived. Buggy, the nurses and the doctor all survived.
Thankfully.
Bubba walked out of the office with three stitches, the exact same number he had the first time he split his chin open. Both scars are a hair away from each other, he looks as if he has a set of railroad tracks on his chin. Poor guy.
He had to sit out of football practice for two weeks which equated to five total practices. Which really showed in his debut Sunday. Tonight it is back to full on practice and I fear the work he is up against.
He looks so freakin' cute in that football gear I just want to squeeze him.
ReplyDeleteDamn you need to get that kid some bubble wrap. lol
ReplyDeleteHe is soooo cute. Beautiful eyes.
Glad to hear his fine, hun
ReplyDeleteWow. That is worse than taking one of the dogs to the vet. At least if they get nervous, a little ACE can be given.
