The ONLY thing I agree with is SOMEWHAT decluttering. OOOH, and maybe a yummy smelling Glade plug in...I'm somewhat certain that the Hawaiian Breeze smell is what sold us on our house. (or the model home) And now every time we smell it we think "mmmmm model home". weird.

Ahhh sigh, I feel your pain, but as a former realtor, I must say this, once you have decided to sell your home, you must separate yourself from it and the memories. It's not yours anymore. You must do what you have to, to make the sale.

I didn't pay any attention to the paint colors in any of the houses we looked at, I knew I'd be changing it anyways. And when we move, believe me that's the least of my worries.

All these homes improvement shows on TV have changed the way buyers look at their potential purchases. That and the realtors like to sway them toward homes that sellers have bought into the spruce up stuff, because it nets the realtor a higher income. Our house has been on the market since October. We moved into another house and took all our stuff with us, so I don't think it can be any more decluttered. We painted over the bright purple bedroom. We painted over the bright green bedroom. The hardwood floors are all refinished. None of that changes the fact that the house is in the middle of nowhere on the side of a mountain and the market

I feel your pain when it comes to the house part of things. I've been dealing with that crap and snotty ass realtors for a year. I thought lawyers and car salesmen were bad, but they have nothing on real estate professionals.

Don't stress too much about staging and all that. In this market, I don't think it matters that much. I've decluttered to the point where I had to put stuff
